"Please, Lord" was originally included on "Pilgrims, Friends, & Blood-ties" by Those Lavender Whales.
Recorded by Isaac Calvage in his living room in Denver.
I think of the song "Please, Lord" as a prayer. It sums up how I feel when times aren't so great. This song (and every Whales song for that matter) has always made me feel happy, even though I went and made it somber.
Like when you find something private that someone dropped in a public place, and you decide to open it to find out to whom it belongs, and you read something personal accidentally, and you find yourself in it. You know what I mean? Andrew
"My Bones Are Singing" is a reminder that sometimes the simplest truths are the most profound. Those Lavender Whales strike the difficult balance between earnestness and sincerity, without emotional pandering or thematic dilution. It’s a peculiar, refreshing, and beautiful record. As you might guess from the title, this is strange and eerie synth music meant to conjure a mystical film where all is not what it seems. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 14, 2023
